It was also the name of a small sedan (derived from the hatchback VW Gol) produced by VW in the 1980s, in Brazil, where it was sold under its original name, VW Voyage, and also Argentina, where it was known as the VW Gacel. It was available both in two-door and four-door versions, although the Brazilian home market version was almost always a two-door. It was a design unique to South America, although it bore a family resemblance to the Europen VW Jetta, also a four-door sedan. During the late 1980s and early 90s, it was sold by VW in North America as an entry level model. A wagon version, which was a 3-door due to Brazilian preference at the time, was also made and marketed as the VW Parati in Brazil and the VW Fox wagon in North America. It was discontinued from the North American market after 1989, and was the last two-door wagon offered in the U.S.
In South Africa, the VW Fox was a model based on the original VW Jetta, but featuring the front end of the CitiThe VW Citi is a car produced by Volkswagen in South Africa. Also known as the CitiGolf, is a facelifted version of the original VW Golf hatchback, which ceased production in Germany in 1983. Local production of this model also ceased at this time, but Vo, itself a facelifted version of the original VW GolfThe Volkswagen Golf is an automobile manufactured by Volkswagen. Taking into account cars that keep their concept and basic layout but not necessarily their name, it's the best selling car of all time worldwide. Modern versions have four basic models: 2-d, still in production in South Africa.
