2 Demographics
As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 4,809 people, 1,847 households, and 1,346 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 407.2/km˛ (1,054.1/mi˛). There are 1,935 housing units at an average density of 163.8/km˛ (424.2/mi˛). The racial makeup of the CDP is 96.13% White, 1.19% Black or African American, 0.54% Native American, 0.06% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.56% from other races, and 1.48% from two or more races. 2.39% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,847 households out of which 34.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.6% are married couplesMarriage is a relationship that plays a key role in the definition of many families.
