For a number of years, it was the flagship station in the Maine Broadcasting System, a collection of local radio and television concerns.

Today, it produces the highest rated and most viewed local news programs in the state, "NewsCenter".

It is also a sister station to WLBZ-2 in Bangor.

WCSH is owned by Gannett Corporation.
