WJXX is the ABC affiliate serving the Jacksonville, Florida area. It started operation in April 1997, replacing longtime ABC affiliate WJKS .
When WJXX set up its base of operations in Orange Park in 1997, its news department merged with fellow Gannett-owned station WTLV to bring the viewing area First Coast News. This partnership continues today.
