WSYX is the ABC television affiliate in Columbus. WSYX is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group and is the sister station to Fox affiliate WTTE.Until the late 1980s, WSYX operated using the call letters WTVN-TV. The current WSYX is meant to convey the station's channel of operation: 6 = SIX ~ SYX.
The station currently broadcasts in stereo. WSYX-DT (WSYX's digital station) operates on channel 13. Its transmitter is located in Columbus, Ohio.
