World dymaxion map
World is often synonymous with the planet Earth (especially when capitalized: the World). World map is a map of the surface of the Earth.
In other contexts, "world" is sometimes used as a synonym for any planet; for example, Mars and Jupiter are two worlds within the solar system.

World can be used in less literal terms; for example, when describing two people with very little in common, one can describe them as "living in two different worlds." When a person refers to the " end of the world," that person usually means "the end of everything I am familiar with."

In knowledge engineeringKnowledge engineering is a relatively new branch of software engineering. It is the field of skills required to build knowledge systems: databases, expert systems and decision support systems. It is also related to the field of logic (reasoning) as the kn and knowledge level modelingKnowledge level modeling is the process of theorizing over observations about a world and, to some extent, explaining the behavior of an agent as it interacts with its environment. Crucial to the understanding of knowledge level modeling are Newell's noti, the term world refers to a consistent state of beliefs.
