Xprint is a tool for the X Window System that will convert the graphical output (windows, etc.) into PostScript code, making it easier to print. The main problem to be solved is that the screen resolution mainly is around 75dpi, whilst printers do at least 360dpi, so a simplistic solution would lead to incredibly small printouts of windows.
