In the Romance of Three Kingdoms, Xu Chu (or Xu Zhu) was a farmer in northern China at the time of the Kingdom of Wei, between 220 and 265 who joined the army of the de facto ruler, Cao Cao, after Xu Chu's village was destroyed. He was a large man, supposedly as wide as he was tall; favouring a huge club for a weapon, he was soon appointed Cao Cao's bodyguard, alongside Dian Wei.
He was killed by several arrows at Wu Zhang Plains.
