Yoko Kanno (菅野 よう子 Kanno Yoko) is a famous composer and keyboardist known for her work in anime titles such as Macross Plus, The Vision of Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop, Turn-A Gundam, Rahxephon, Wolf's Rain, , and others.She also has created game music for Koei. Some of her most famous music pieces are "Tank! (Cowboy Bebop theme)", "Voices (Macross Plus)", "Dance of Curse (Escaflowne)", "Gravity (Wolf's Rain)", and "Rush (Cowboy Bebop)." She was the lead member of a band called The Seatbelts, which was formed for the sole purpose of making the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack.
There is some speculation that one of her frequently hired vocalists, Gabriela Robin, is Kanno herself under a pseudonym.
She is currently married to fellow composer Hajime Mizoguchi, with whom she collaborated on the soundtracks for Escaflowne and Please Save My EarthPlease Save My Earth ( or Boku no Chikyu wo Mamotte is a manga by Saki Hiwatari which spanned 21 volumes and was adapted into a multi-part anime OVA (animated by Production I.
