Žvaigždes in Lithuanian mythology are stars. Žvaigždes are daughters of Saule and sometimes Menulis . One of most important Žvaigždes is Aušrine. Aušrine’s sisters are other important goddesses, like Vakarine (the evening Venus, she who makes the bed for Saule), Indraja (Jupiter), Selija (Saturn), Žiezdre (Mars) and Vaivora (Mercury). God Žvaigždikis has substantial links with the Žvaigždes. These 6 sisters of Saule were eldest daughters. 3 of them were living between people and 3 were shining in the sky. Vaivora was traveling on the earth only three days, Aušrine 9 and Indraja 27.
